what is Phoenix leather hides shipping policy?

$20.99 Flat rate shipping cost no matter how many sides your purchase. The more sides you purchase in one order the more you save.

General handling time for orders is 3-5 business days (Mon-Fri).

At Phoenix Leather Hides we ship through multiple carriers to keep our costs down which in turn allows us to provide our leather at more affordable prices for our customers. We select the carrier based on cost. If you would like to choose a carrier specifically, we will do our best to accommodate, and you must include this info in the "Add a Note" section from your cart to include your preferred shipping method. Any difference in cost will be invoiced to you via email and must be paid prior to your order shipping.

What is Phoenix Leather Hides Returns/Refunds Policy?

At Phoenix Leather Hides returns/refunds are only available for leather that was damaged during shipment.

Each product clearly states grading (See our FAQ section for pictures on our grading process).

Samples are available and if you are unsure about a product, please order a sample prior to a full side. You can also contact us at 508-264-5777 for additional photos.

A return/refund may be available at Phoenix Leather Hide's discretion minus any shipping costs incurred. This is on a case-by-case basis. Customer will be responsible for cost of returns of non-damaged leather and will be reimbursed in full minus the original flat rate shipping cost of $20.99.

Due to high cost of International Shipping we under NO circumstances reimburse for shipping costs to or from international addresses.

Does Phoenix Leather Hides ship internationally

Does phoenix Leather offer Samples

Interested in samples?  Email us at PhoenixLeatherHides@Gmail.com and we can invoice you at $3 per 3"x5" sample.

How does the grading system work at Phoenix Leatehr Goods?

A-B (few range marks/good for large products/panels), B-C (more range marks/brands/potential for some color mottling/small hole(s)/good for medium products/panels), C-D (potential high volume of range marks/brands/color mottling/hole(s)/good for vintage products or small products where you can cut around deficiencies)

what if my order has shipped and i notice it is shipping to an old address? 

We ship to the address provided to us.  Our shipping program does not save changes to addresses based on previous orders.  Please ensure your address is correct as the address provided is the one we will ship to.  Customers will be responsible for charges for rerouting, order cancellation etc.   

do you allow walk-in customers?

We may be able to allow walk-in customers on an individual basis.  Please contact us via email at PhoenixLeatherHides@gmail.com

do you offer splitting?

We do not offer splitting at this time.  If you generally require splitting there are some great options for small business splitting machines through companies like Springfield Leather, Tandy and Weaver.  

Why do you not list the tanneries who make each leather you have on your site?

The leather industry is very competitive, especially when you are not a tannery yourself and rely on sourcing pre-tanned leather for resale.  We have to buy very high volumes (sqft), which most individual makers cannot monetary source, to leave room for our own revenue flow.  If customers ask we are more than happy to reveal the tannery but do not make it easy for reseller competition to contact our suppliers and remove us from our prospective inventory.  This is the same for many makers who do not share where they source their leather, simply enough they do not want competition to source the same leather, reduce the price of the product and then undersell them, or worse case scenario purchase all the leather in inventory making it no longer available.  We hope this makes sense.  Any leather reseller will tell you inventory is never guaranteed.  The only true stable leather sourcing is larger production runs dealing directly with a tannery, bottom line.  We like to be transparent about this.  If you are at the point where high volumes is what you need than we highly encourage you to reach out to a tannery directly! Contact us and we will even suggest a few tanneries to reach out to to start your journey! 

Why should I work with a leather reseller and not a tannery directly (cut out the middle man)?

This is an important question and one we are happy to answer.  Simply put tanneries often have leather as either overstock or rejected that does not go to the intended production customer.  It does not mean the leather is less quality and oftentimes it is rejected simply for incorrect color or weights/thickness.  Of course some is rejected for higher than normal range characteristics that do not fit into the production customers window of allowance and that is where Economy leather at reduced price come into play.  Resellers help tanneries move their overstock or rejected leathers by eliminating the tannery itself to find customers to sell to and deal.  Resellers also help makers who may not be able to afford production MOQs (Minimum Order Quantity) of 3000sqft, 4000sqft or more.  It allows makers to source lower quantities, varying quality and a provides a little more wiggle room when trying new leathers (textures, finishes, weights, quality, colors and more). 

 

As much as leather resellers are the middle man between a tannery and maker, they provide the stepping stones to assist with a maker's business growth. Without makers leather resellers would not exist, and without leather resellers most makers would not be able to make their first product.  It is all a part of the cycle.  We are happy to see makers grow and no longer need our services, it means you made it and we sincerely hope we helped a little along the way.
